How do you think the movie version of "The Hunger Games" compares to the book? Explain your answer. Firstly, i think the movie compared to the book has minor mistakes but i should've expected that already as most movie adaptions for novels aren't exactly the same.....i wouldn't call it an error either because some scenes to be created as a movie part isn't all that easy. The movie however in my opinion is better than the book, it's probably just because of me thinking books are more of a relaxed kind but the hunger games movie is more thrilling, and exciting! ;D

That's interesting! I think I prefer the book because it has so much more detail and I feel you get to know the characters much more than you do in the film. I can see your point about the film being more exciting though. It's faster paced than the book.

I think in the film all the characters are too cold and unlikeable. Because the book is a first person story it explains the characters through Katniss's eyes but this is not possible in the film as you cannot hear Katniss's thoughts.I prefer the book as it is easier to connect to the story and characters for the reasons explained.

I like the film, but not as much as the book. They left out alot of details. Not all of them were important, but I don't think they should have left Madge out.

I think the book was much better than the film. It seems as if they rushed through the film and missed out alot of things. If you had'nt read the book you probably wouldnt have fully understood the movie.

Well, the film was good, but the book was better. There were a lot of changes and differences to the plot. A lot of scenes, like the reaping, interveiws and tracker jacker scenes were very well done, but others, like the mutts -mainly because they were all identical- weren't. I mean, they were good, but not as good. The uprising in District 11 was a nice touch, though. And obviously the gruesome bits-Glimmer's death, Katniss's burns, Cato's death and both Peea's leg injuries-weren't as bad in the film. Yes, Glimmer was still all bumps and lumps but she wasn't crumbling. One last point is that the film offers you many veiws. Caeser and Claudius's commentary. The Gamemakers in their lab, creating chaos. The reactions in District 12 as the Games unfold. And at one point Haymitch getting sponsors.

I think the movie was very entertaining, though the book was definitely better. The movie missed out quite a respectable amount of the book. However, the movie had other scenes that weren't in the book, mainly scenes of the Hunger Games presenters commentating on what's going on.

These are all very interesting observations folks! I do agree that the book had a lot more detail in it and you don't get a really good sense of character. The book wins I think!

I think "The Hunger Games" book is better than the Film, because the book explains more details than the Film does. ;D

i think the film is good but missed out many parts of the book. The book is better because it goes into more detail and the characters showed more emotion in the book. the book was better.
